Dad Has to Give Permission for Son to Appear in Computer Game

Fans of the Football Manager computer game franchise, where players take charge of their favourite teams and attempt to make Scunthorpe United Champions League winners within five seasons (so, fairly realistic), who were annoyed to learn that 15 year-old Norwegian wunderkind Martin Odegaard had been left out of the current version, will have reason to celebrate now.

Despite the teenager being pursued by Real Madrid, Manchester United and a host of others, not to mention having represented his country at senior level already, the decision was made that he would be left out of the game, due to his age, unless the makers received parental permission.

And receive it, they eventually did! Odeagaard’s dad tweeted the studio manager of games firm, Sports Interactive to give his consent and now Football Manager fans around the world will be able to buy the player to bolster Scunthorpe United’s Bayern Munich-slaying midfield. Well done everybody.

Apparently, back in the day, Sega had to do something similar to acquire the permission to show Sonic the Hedgehog in their games.
