Bewildered Family Guide to Yorkshire – Harrogate

This week, Elsa and I take a trip to the North Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate. Here’s how we got on:

Not only do we touch on the traditional family favourites, but we watch the Spa Town Roller Girls -the flat track roller derby team, clad ourselves in locally-developed manmade fibres and enthuse about the world’s greatest tea. There’s also debate about whether Harrogate really is as posh as everyone says it is.

It’s a beautiful town and has been voted the happiest place to live in the UK and that is no surprise. There are plenty of things to do with the family in Harrogate, and it’s not always just the obvious activities. You’ll also have to watch to find out what connects Harrogate to Bucks Fizz. Now there’s a tease…

Thanks to Sally Haslewood from Harrogate Mumbler, Gill Bruce from North and Soul, and Baltzersen’s cafe.
