Jim Broadbent and Jane Horrocks are among the stars to sign up for a remake of the classic children’s series Teletubbies. The stars, who also appeared together in Little Voice, will not be donning the famous foam suits, but instead will lend their voices to the show which is set to hit CBeebies screens later this year.
Horrocks will channel her inner-Siri to voice the tubby phone, the mobile-gadget which the new Teletubbies use to communicate, with Broadbent and Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton being heard through trumpets that rise from the ground.
The original Teletubbies series was seen by over a billion children in 120 countries around the world so now wonder commissioning editors are screaming “Again! Again!”. To read the Bewildered Dad guide to kids’ TV as it currently stands, just click the link.
Now it’s time to get creative – create your own kids’ TV show, featuring your own cast of stars. For instance, In the Michael Knight Garden – Iggle Piggle trumps Oopsie Daisy’s mechanical bed by developing a talking car. Voices by David Hasselhoff and the teacher from Boy Meets World.
