March 2015's Dad Gig: Morrissey

MorrisseyAn act as beguiling as Morrissey cannot be missed, so this has to be the Dad Gig for March. If you can only afford to book in a babysitter once this month then make it the evening that the former Smiths frontman comes to town.

From his strident views on venues that are hosting his shows selling meat products to his love/hate/hate/love/hate relationship with the media and his almost unreadable autobiography (try some paragraphs man, for goodness’ sake!), you could have never even have heard any of his music and still be intrigued by Morrissey but, whatever you think of the man, he’s definitely got the tunes. Expect Smiths classics, the big tunes from his solo career, a cover maybe and definitely some long forgotten tracks for the obsessives – altogether a cracking evening.

For a man so continually written off as a misery, he has a wicked sense of humour and controls a room when he gets up on stage. And then there’s the crowd – Morrissey’s fan’s are almost worth the entrance fee themselves – this is their church and their god has turned up to say hello.

Morrissey is playing these dates:

  • March 13th – Nottingham Capital FM Arena
  • March 14th – Bournemouth International Centre
  • March 18th – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
  • March 20th – Leeds First Direct Arena
  • March 21st – Glasgow SSE Hydro
  • March 24th – Belfast Odyssey
  • March 27th – Birmingham Barclaycard Arena

The perfect opportunity to break out your dad dancing.
