We're All Genetically More Like Dad than Mum

DNAA study published in Nature Genetics says that although we are made up of equal amounts of genetic material from our parents, it’s the father’s genes which dominate. The report stated that this doesn’t just stand for humans, but all mammals witness the same phenomenon.

Author of the study, James Crowley PhD of the University of North Carolina, said that several hundred genes contain an “expression imbalance in favour of the dad”. The results could give a new insight into the causes of and possible treatments for inherited diseases.

Of course this doesn’t seem to have worked for the kids of Will Reid, the sarcastic dad who has take to YouTube to teach them basic housework skills after despairing of their untidiness.
