Women’s EURO 2022 Roadshow in Rotherham | AD

Partnership

There is nothing like the atmosphere of an international football tournament. I’ve only been to one before, mind you. It was the men’s EURO 2004 in Portugal and I was only there for one game, but hanging around Porto and Lisbon for a couple of days with fans from all over the continent was such a great experience. Well, a major tournament is coming to our shores this summer and of course they’re visiting Yorkshire. Sheffield and Rotherham are hosting games, and Seth and I had a blast at the Women’s EURO 2022 roadshow in Rotherham.

Take a look:

The Roadshow

We arrived at Clifton Park in Rotherham (which is worth a visit any other time too) early on the Sunday. Excitement built as we headed up a hill, following the pumping music, Pied Piper-style. And then we were met with a festival of football going on.

There were people learning skill as well as a range of activities to get involved with. Seth enjoyed the virtual keepy-uppies, getting his name in the top five of the leaderboard.

We also watched an amazing display of trickery from an expert on the pitch, saw how they make football programmes for telly, learnt about VAR and saw the Player of the Match and EURO 2022 trophies in the flesh.

Goal Celebrations

There were also booths where you could add a video of you performing a Mexican wave and goal celebrations. Seth and I channelled our inner-strikers and bounced around like crazy for the latter. I’ve used an image from the video of us doing that in the feature image of this blog, and it looked perhaps a little inappropriate when I took a freeze frame. I’m not entirely sure what Lucy Bronze is doing to me, but Seth and I look concerned.
